This is the conceptual design sketch as well as a few pic of the actual rocket.
I work as a camp counselor during the summers here in Colorado as well as doing
the art thing. My biggest claim to fame in this area is the Rocket Camp I have
run for the past ten years or so. This year I decided to design a rocket to honor
a young man (spelled "child") who died a short time ago in a terrible
accident. Seems we've been loosing too many kids these days if you ask me. The
rocket flew like a son of a gun!!!!
Hunter is the boy's name, so that's the name we gave the rocket. Officially,
the rocket is known as "Hunter's Ride". This rocket truly hauled-ass
for heaven on that terrific Colorado afternoon and was recovered in fine shape.
We then presented the rocket to Hunter's Mom Kathy with an honorary Certificate
of Astronautics stating that Hunter had indeed earned his wings.
